A good man possibly a hero inside our government who stood by his morals and did everything in his power to stop the Fast and Furious program, tried to get permission to write a book on the failed and dangerous policy of government funded gun trafficking across boarders, and was denied. ATF agent John Dodson titled his book “The Unarmed Truth” and it was going to be an inside account of our governments actions.
Seeing as how in Obama’s first days as president he promised us the most transparent government in the history of the U.S. one would not think this is an issue. Dodson followed government regulations and requested permission to print this book, after a full transcript was available but was shut down by the agency. The reason was vague Rather than provide a specific objection with would allow for a line-by-line redaction, ATF used a policy that “grants supervisors the discretion to censor critical speech simply because it annoys or embarrasses the ATF,” Rowland wrote in a letter delivered Monday.
Even assuming that the ATF waives certain rights when employed, this is clearly an attempt by the administration to hide the embarrassment that lead to the death of U.S. boarder control agents, and is a blatant usurpation of 1st amendment rights. I ask you all that want this mans voice heard, contact your senators and congressmen, and demand he be granted permission to write this book, we pay the government to work for us, we deserve to know what its doing from the inside out.
