This is simply a post of a letter I sent to my leaders in Montana. If we want our voices to be heard, we must speak.
I want to thank you for standing with Montanan’s who find the ACA unacceptable, as I see it the House has indeed negotiated, moving from a complete removal of Obamacare to a year waiver to repealing the medical device tax, I urge you and all our congressmen not to give in to Obama’s non negotiation rhetoric. Considering he is a man who received a peace prize due to his diplomatic ways, I personally find his stance weak, unintelligent and that of a 12 year old.
I myself am a disabled veteran who receives VA healthcare and a disability check for injuries incurred in service, and I will gladly give up what I receive if it means a reduction in the foothold of government over the life of every day Americans. We need a balanced budget, and the individual mandate of the ACA needs to go away. If a shutdown is the only way we can get a budget that is reasonable, then so be it.
I am a blogger and will be sending this message to all my readers, along with any reply I receive. I would ask you to pass this message to our Montana senators John Tester and Max Baucus, since their emails are shut down along with 17 percent of the government.
As a Montanan and a veteran I am disappointed in the way our senate and our president is conducting themselves. I ask you please urge a vote in the senate on the bills the house has passed. I realize that the ACA is a key democrat peace of law, and that you don’t want it to go away, but it is hurting my family, my wife’s premiums have gone up at her job for next year, as well as her deductibles, and in 2015 she will no longer have employer coverage, forcing us to a government plan we never wanted, that will still cost more than what she will pay at her work next year. Remove the individual mandate, repeal obamacare, give us an extra year to address our worries now that we can see prices and real impacts of the law, stop exempting yourselves from things we have to do, and work for your people.
If you do nothing else, at least pass the house bills that have no ACA language attached to them, show the people you are working for them, not against them. Do not let Obama bully you into thinking this is a good battle, if he wants to veto bills, pass them and then let him veto them, put this on Obama if Obama wants it to be on him.
