Last week I sent a rather epic(or so I thought) letter to my senators, and shared that with you guys. I pored my rage, and a bit of humor into this meaningful thought out demand, and maybe just maybe a tiny bit of my soul into the letter, to only receive a reply that took me 15 seconds to read. I was sure that due to the fact that I laid out a step by step program (something many recovering addicts need) that I would receive a real reply, an assurance that my senators are working their hardest, that in my life I would never see another shut down, that at least a budget deal was in the works. Alas I received nothing. I suppose I commend a less generic reply than I have before received, but it said literally nothing, no promises, no weaseling out of why these things that are issues, nothing but the fact that my voice was heard and that I was to be commended for my concerns.
Here is the letter for you all to read.
Thank you for your concerns about the many challenges facing our nation. I’m glad to hear from you.
Engagement is an important part of the democratic process, and I commend your advocacy on this issue. Know that I hear your concerns and will take them into consideration.
Thanks again for getting in touch. For more information about what I’m doing at home in Montana and across the nation, please visit my website at http://www.baucus.senate.gov.
